Today was a nice day to build the delta loop. Using the calculator on the website of WS6X. Resulting in 21.6m of wire… after cuting off some 40cm it now works fine across the band.
Anything new the drops in, or just a nice description of my older stuff.
Building a balun for a delta loop. I had same advice as at first i wanted to build an air coil balun. But i was told to use an ferriet coil. So i did. Just an simple straight true 4:1 balun. There are loads of pages describing how and why it works and how to make them. So i won’t bother anyone with that. Instead i build one and yes it worked… I used 2 […]
For my Outdoor QRP operation I already have several antenna’s but missing in my box are dipoles. So I decided to build a small little dipole box. It’s a real quick and dirty construction. The pictures will say it all: It’s just a box with a bnc and 2 bolts. In the first picture I used the wrong type, so I replaced them. The end result. It also has a little hook on top to hang […]
I build this just because i wanted a quick and easy project to kill some time. I found the schematics online (PH2LB and Here). All the necessary parts i had laying around. In the end it looked like this: It give a fair a mound of “Noise” according to my scope. I have put it in a little enclosure, also i tried it on my frequency counter. It seams to resonate around the 1.7 […]
This weekend I reorganized the shelf to fit my measurement tools.
At my birthday party someone showed up with a awesome old radio. An old SEM-35 manpack radio. SEM-35 Specifications Frequency Coverage 26 to 69.95MHz Channels 880 spaced 50kHz Modulation F3 (FM) Deviation 15kHz max. Transmitter RF Output 150 mW or 1Watt Frequency Stability < + 3.5kHz from -40 to +600C Receiver Sensitivity < 0.5 micro volts for 10db reduction in S/N Receiver Selectivity > 80db at + 50kHz AF bandwidth 400 to 3000Hz Receiver AF […]
